The target audience is QuarkXPress users who would like to experiment with hosting their QuarkXPress projects on their company Web site without any extra design or deployment effort, share QuarkXPress project files without sending actual files and fonts, and support an audience that doesn’t run QuarkXPress on their machines.
The goal behind the QuarkViewer XTensions module is to validate the use of the Microsoft Silverlight platform for the publishing industry. In addition to being highly accessible for graphic designers and offering cross-platform format standards, Microsoft Silverlight provides QuarkXPress with the ability to encompass the key high-fidelity rendering and programming features from Microsoft’s WPF and XPS platforms — making it easy to combine application logic and content presentation in a single design and development platform.
